Michael has been teaching singing for over 25 years and has a successful and thriving private voice studio in Los Angeles. He is grateful and proud to work with singers currently performing on Broadway, National Tours, Television, Movies, and many stars of the Los Angeles theater scene.
In addition to helping singers discover and work towards their highest vocal potential, he also strives to mentor those seeking to improve their understanding of the business of performing. Besides mastery of vocal technique, any given session can focus on building a singer’s audition “book”, audition technique, monologue coaching, finding the right headshot photographer, or connecting with an agent and/or casting director.
With a life devoted to studying the voice (Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas), he has made it his mission to cultivate and nurture healthy, strong, and versatile singing in his students. His goal has always been to share with singers the fundamentals of a strong, classically based technique and adapt those fundamentals for all styles and genres of music. He believes that having a comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of how the voice works puts a singer on the best path to manifest in reality that which the singer can imagine in their head. This is a principle he has successfully applied to his own performing career and considers it an honor and privilege to pass that knowledge on.
